What is Nitrox? part 1

Hello divers! How are you all doing?
Today, we would like to start Nitrox blog series because Nitrox trail is coming up on 6/27 at IOP. Therefore, we would like as many people as possible to know what it is and what its benefits are for divers. This blog is part 1, “What is Nitrox”.
“Nitrox” as known as Enriched Air is a breathing-gas which contains more oxygen than regular gas that are commonly used for recitational diving. The regular gas (air) consists of 21% oxygen and 79% nitrogen. On the other hand, Nitrox usually contains 32～36% oxygen but cannot go above 40%. Nitrox cylinders are labeled by yellow letters with green background color to be differentiated from regular cylinders. To use Nitrox, Nitrox specialty is required due to the fact that it uses different dive table (No-Decompression table).
Nowadays, ,more divers prefer Nitrox over Air because of the benefits that Nitrox can provide to the divers. In the next blog, we would discuss how Nitrox benefits many divers.
